BYREDO BAE
OK SO I’M CURRENTLY OBSESSED WITH BYREDO...
I have a close friend that loves fragrance shopping. I have literally gotten calls from her telling me that the lady at Jo Malone asked her to come in and try a new fragrance and it births a spend trip for us both.
We all know that roaming the fragrance section at any department store can be overkill at times. It’s no lie sensory overload; inhaling different scents literally within two seconds of each other, falling in love with the bottle, and not the scent, or the price for that matter.
It’s something about the Byredo counter just soothes me. Not sure if it’s the glass bottles uniformly placed on the suede mat. Or the intriguing names of the scents, such as “eyes closed” or “eleventh hour”. The smooth matte shower gel bottles and hand creams that scream at you to buy them. The branding is simple yet bold and clean and I live for the magnetic caps. I try my hardest to only smell a few, but the visual experience is so exhilarating I end up running through them all. Not to mention wanting to purchase bottles based solely on how cool the names are without knowing the scent.
Of course I had to purchase Mojave Ghost, or “Mojave Most” as I like to call it, because everyone either has it or it’s on their wish list.
This scent transports me to a luxury Paradero hotel with a beautiful landscape and fresh breeze.
My friend, as mentioned earlier in this blog post, is already on her second bottle. She loves it so much.
I spray it on my clothes because I find that it doesn’t last as long on my skin.
My favorite scent of the all is “PULP”, although De los Santos is a fabulous runner up. Pulp will most likely be my scent of the summer. It’s subtle and sweet just like the pulp of a fruit or flower. I was also told the brand is going to discontinued it so that sold me alone. You know I’ll take whatever everyone else can’t have.
I also purchased De los Santos. I found it to be the perfect everyday wear to work scent. My husband also likes it. His other Byredo favorites were Eleventh Hour and Velvet Haze. I love that the majority of Byredo scents are unisex so my husband and I both can collect and enjoy them together.
With my purchase I was given a 3 pack sampler that resembled a cigarette box . I was able to request three scents to sample and they came beautifully packaged with tissue paper and label. I was blown away that they put that much attention to detail just for the give away samples. I’m not sure if this is offered at department store counters; but the touch added to the pleasure of the actual Byredo store experience.
Now I find every excuse to come back. And I’ve done so with all my family members thus far. My mother’s favorite was La Tulipe. The scent is so feminine and soft, most definitely a head turner. She ended up purchasing the hair mist.
Safe to say I’ll be in Byredo all summer. I may cheat here and there with “Sweet do Nothing” by D.S. & Durga. Anywho, my heart for the moment belongs to Byredo.
As always, thanks for reading.
