BRUNCH IN PARIS : CAFE DE LA PAIX

CAFE DE LA PAIX

5 Pl. de l’Opera, 75009 Paris France OPEN 8:00AM - 11:00PM

Cafe de la Paix is a very famous cafe in Paris. It was used for screenings in 1896 and has since attracted many famous Hollywood actors and actresses and well known socialites all over the globe. We came for brunch on our first full day in Paris. They did require proof of vaccination to dine. The menu was in French but there were pretty standard food options; coffees, eggs, cheeseburgers, etc. There wasn’t anything that stood out to me as a “must try”, the food was mostly very bland and underwhelming. However, the hunter green and white decor was very cute and the ambiance coupled with thier cocktails screamed brunch!

COFFEE IN PARIS : CAFE CAFE DE LA COMEDIE

CAFE DE LA COMEDIE

157 Rue St Honoré, 75001 Paris France OPEN 6:00AM - 2:00AM

Cafe de la Comedie is directly nextdoor to the Hotel du Louvre. The menu has a wide range of food from wine & cheese boards to crepes, or cheeseburgers to steaks. Whatever you are in the mood for, nine times out of ten they probably have it. The cafe also has a full bar making it the perfect place to people watch. The place doesn’t close until 2am which is promising. There’s also a popular bookstore next door, so you can relax read and sip wine well into the evening.

This Authentic French restaurant sits right on the corner of a cobblestone street with the Eiffel Tower peaking above the trees. I must admit I only came here to shoot content but we got wind of someone else’s plate and decided to stay for lunch. I am so glad we did. We tried escargot for the first time which had an excellent garlic sauce that was seasoned to perfection. The texture wasn’t my thing but I did mop up the rest of the sauce with my bread. We went for the grilled steak and salad with was served with some kind of sauce. The kids played it safe with pizza and grilled cheese. Overall the food was decent, however the drinks were much better!

“It was the hip hop music for me..”

Bel Ami is only a four minute walk from the Moulin Rouge. The pink atmosphere is really cute. They played really good music and the staff were extremely nice. The young man running the place allowed me to film him making the cocktails and take a tour of the restaurant. I never got to confirm if it was a black owned but most of the people working there were of color.

DINNER IN PARIS : LE BREBANT

LE BREBANT

32 Bd Poissonnière, 75009 Paris, France OPEN 7:30AM -4:30AM

We first touched down in Paris at about 7:00pm. I booked a reservation at Pink Mamma for 9:15pm because I had heard so many great reviews about the food & ambiance. Needless to say after arriving to the hotel, checking in and getting settled it was already 9pm and we missed the reservation. The majority of popular restaurants in the city closed at about 9 or 10pm with the exception of Cafe Le Brebant which closed at 4:30am. This place was already on my wishlist so it was the perfect back up plan.

When we arrived at 10:30pm the place was packed with all types of people. Some were on dates, others were having girls night and most were just people who dropped in, not dressed up at all. The vibe was very sexy with dim lighting and all the latest music being played. I felt a little weird having my kids with me but was told not to worry. I‘m sure it helped that they were dressed really cute and fit the scene. There was a gentleman selling roses right outside the restaurant and my husband bought some for my daughter and I. He had them brought to the table and that really made her night!

No reservation required but they do ask to see vaccination cards.

BOBA IN PARIS : THE ALLEY

Matcha Milk Tea & Creme Brûlée Brown Sugar Tea

Matcha Milk Tea & Creme Brûlée Brown Sugar Tea

After scooting around the city for fun we came across this boba tea joint called “The Alley.” You can always spot a boba tea house by the line outside and sure enough this place was making quite a buzz. They had their menu on the outside of their window with all different color tea drinks and smoothies. Inside there was an inviting bright yellow neon sign and different merchandise for purchase. Guests were called inside to place their order one by one due to Covid restrictions. After our order was placed we had to wait outside with a buzzer until our drinks were ready. Trust me the boba is well worth the wait!

WHAT WE ORDERED:

  • Matcha Milk Tea

  • Creme Brûlée Brown Sugar Tea

  • Strawberry Mochi Smoothie

WELP!… Thats it for my food journey in Paris. Hopefully next time I can try some more places. Check out my Paris restaurant wishlist below and let me know of any places you recommend.
