Our Bohemian Inspired Dining Room
Growing up the formal dining table was used for very special occassions. We ate there when we had company over or some sort of celebration. I remember it also being where we were given discipline as children or a place for serious family talks and bible studies.
How do I breathe fresh air into my dining space while keeping the same feel from the past? Here’s my attempt at making our dining room feel bright and inviting; while keeping a warm serious tone.

Our dining room is a mixture of Scandanavian furniture, earthenware, and vintage thrift finds. It gives a little boho here, a little Retro Hollywood there, and some thrift knickknacks over there. There are lots of female busts and historic women from black culture that serve as figures of motivation . All of the earthenware, different textures & neutral tones make it a space to feel grounded and uplifted. The plants in the space signify growth and shedding. The large south facing window makes it a bright and inviting space, also perfect for plant life.
